Jacmel Bay 5k
This year, we are excited to offer a new event in addition to our successful 20K race!
The Jacmel Bay 5K starts at Lakou New York and features a challenging course with scenic views of Jacmel Bay. The route winds its way through the historic and art district of Jacmel, providing a tour of this beautiful coastal city.
We are updating the course, so check back to see the new course map.
It is not to be missed!
* Please note that both runners and walkers are welcome, however, there will be a time limit of two hours for the event. We ask that you keep this time limit in mind when registering.
Event details and schedule
The event will be held on Friday, March 9th, at 4:00pm. The race starts and ends at Lakou New York on Jacmel Bay. The race will start promptly at 4:00pm. It is NOT CHIP TIMED so please make arrangements to arrive on time.
All participants (who have registered prior to race day) will receive a Run Haiti t-shirt.
Prize money will be provided to the top three finishers in three categories (Please see restrictions on prize money distribution listed at the bottom of this page):
• First Place Male: $50
• First Place Female: $50

There will be one Aid Station at the 3km mark along the course. This will be stocked with WATER ONLY. You will need to stock your own nutrition for the course if you think that you will need it.

There are many options in Jacmel for comfortable Lodging during race weekend. We recommend Hotel Cyvadier Plage, although we can help arrange for lodging in other locations.
Please note the following information: There is a two-hour time limit for the race. Please keep this in mind when registering. Those who are not registered for the event prior to the start of the race are not eligible for the prize money. Those who do not wear their race number during the duration of the event are not eligible for the prize money. Those who cut the course or are found cheating in any way are not eligible for the prize money. Prize money will be awarded based off of gun time (not chip time). In the event that a Haitian runner wins a gender category, they will be awarded the prize money for that gender category but not the prize money for the "First Place Haitian" category. In that event, the next place Haitian runner that has not won a gender category will win the prize money for "First Place Haitian." There are NO EXCEPTIONS. Registration is NON-REFUNDABLE but we can try and make accommodations for future events.
